VISION V18-310 TV Satellite IRS Multi Meter DC Power Tester UK
The V18-310 from Vision is an innovative tester that will assist professional installers of domestic TV and satellite systems, commercial and communal IRS, CATV and MATV.
This really useful Vision IRS / dSCR DC meter will simultaneously measure coax DC volts, current and can even check for 22kHz signals in LIVE TV and satellite IRS installations.
It can be used to ensure IRS switches and dSCRs are being used within their proper operating parameters, check power supplies are not being overloaded.
Making sure Sky, Sky Q and Freesat etc STBs are working correctly.
Check TV masthead power supplies are operating correctly and so much more. It has two f connectors for fast and easy connection and will run from line power, or can use an internal battery if preferred (not included).
It uses two bright LED displays, so its easy to read in poorly lit locations such as lofts or risers.
The V18-310 will accurately simultaneously measure the DC voltage (30v Max) and DC current (10A max) passing through a 75 ohm coaxial cable. It will also simultaneously indicate if a 22kHz signal is present on the coax cable in satellite systems connected to: legacy satellite receivers SKY+, Sky+HD, Sky Q, Freesat, Freesat HD, dSCR, SCR and DiSEq installations etc.
IMPORTANT: The V18-310 TV/ SAT Power Tester requires a PP3 (6LR61, MN1604) 9V battery and the press to test button operated to make accurate current measurements, but for convenience, it will indicate an approximate current value when line powered and/or the press to test button is not operated.
The V18-310 TV/SAT Power Tester will pass RF frequencies with minimal attenuation so that voltage and current measurements can be made while operating TV and satellite equipment.

Measuring voltage and current in line powered coaxial systems has always been cumbersome especially in-situ of a dark and inaccessible building riser. Although a conventional multimeter can easily measure the voltage it is difficult to measure the current draw when under load without providing jumper leads and terminal blocks to interconnect with the coaxial cables carrying the current.
Now Vision has solved this problem with the V18-310 TV/SAT DC Power Tester which can measure voltage and display simultaneous current reading in the dual line LED display. The V18-310 can also detect 22KHz tone when connected to the input of a satellite receiver that is send 22KHz tone for Legacy/SCR/dSCR switching commands. V18-310 TV/SAT DC Power Tester will pass RF with minimal insertion loss when testing the input of a satellite receiver or output of a masthead amplifier.
V18-310 is ideal for fault finding in IRS installations where complex remote line powering cannot easily be tested. Faulty power supplies and poor or wrong cable connections can easily cause unpredictable faults. V18-310 can easily show a faulty power supply or system overload.
